Preacherman46 Posted October 17, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2016 I am reading (tripadvisor) comments of audio guides available. Does anyone know about details? Thanks:)
Rare cruisemom42 Posted October 17, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2016 Audioguides can be rented at the Palatine Hill ticket office for 5 euros. If you follow the suggested tour, it takes about 2 hours (but I'd probably allow a little longer). I have not used them, so I can't give a thumbs up or thumbs down. But there's very little signage on the site, and (like the Forum), all the ruins can be difficult to decipher if you're not an expert. Plus, with all the meandering pathways, it's easy to miss important things -- like the iron age hut of Romulus and Remus, or the small museum on site, or the cryptoporticus where it is thought that bad boy Emperor Caligula was murdered by the Praetorian Guard: http://www.romanhideout.com/News/2008/20080105.asp
