Divina Specialty Dining-Prepay or Not?

This is only my second cruise (first was on Disney Dream). I purchased the $50 package to dine at 3 of the specialty restaurants (Eatlay Steakhouse, Galaxy, and Eataly Pizza). However, I didn't realize that you still have to wait to pick your times when you get on the ship. Also, are you able to eat at a specialty restaurant without pre-paying? What are the advantages/disadvantages for both. I'm thinking about possibly canceling the purchase. Any help is appreciated.
