Barclays Point for Pinnacle

Someone mentioned a few weeks ago that they used their HAL credit card points for Pinnacle dinner (I appreciate reading that because I didn't realize that was an option). AND it's a good use of points too... better than the 1% exchange on most other redemption offers.

 

Anyway. My real question is - since I'm a 3 star Mariner... and should get 25% off - does anyone know if I'll get a part of the value credited to my room balance?

 

And can I book the date before I leave or only once onboard?

 

(I leave 12/31 on Eurodam).

As I remember there was a card in the stateroom and I made reservations after boarding.
