Cruise with Mary goes to NOLA! Triumph!

We have been to Mexico a few times and it is not our favorite place ...that being said I realize that our cruise went only to Mexican ports but I could cruise for the ship not the ports. [emoji925]

 

We walked around and then went back to the ship. We changed and went to the main pool.

We watched a Rockumentary on the big screen, just enjoying the sun and warmth and a couple drinks. Serene. Listened to music playing then went to Blue Iguana for taco's. So yummy!

 

 

We went from a couple of hours in the sun to our dark, cool room for a nap, waking around 5pm. Dressed and went to the casino for a little pre-dinner fun.

 

This game-so stupid.

 

We went to dinner at 6pm and had a table at the window. Mike had Oysters Rockefeller, Caesar salad and shrimp cocktail, and I had the shrimp as well. We had the steak, it was ok. Not bad but not great. No dessert tonight.

 

The captain announced that we were going to have some wind and waves tomorrow. It would be colder also. I always enjoy a little motion.

We are rocking and rolling now!! We went to the main pool for the dance party with cruise director Jess and saw a young couple who are just extremely talented dancers. Of course we did all the main dances the wobble cha-cha slide etc.

 

Earlier in the comedy club venue there was a great Motown band playing and as we're from the Detroit area we enjoyed that and we came back to our room around 1 AM.

I was posting on Facebook from the room since we had the social media Internet and my adult daughter posted why is my mom up at 4 AM...hahaha!!

Day 5....Say it ain't so!!

 

Since we were up rather late I was tired but my hubby woke me up around 9 AM but I couldn't get out of bed so at 9:45 we got dressed and went to the Paris dining room for breakfast. We sat at a large table with really nice couples.

 

Eggs, hash, bacon, ok and coffee. We went for a walk outside-cooler with strong winds and waves.

 

 

We went to pixels to get s couple photo's and and then to casino to play slots while my hubby talked to a very nice guy who told us about craps. Didn't play though.

 

Ship is moving pretty good, I love the rocking and rolling!!! [emoji100]

 

 

Hit up Guy's Burgers one more time and go to our room to get a photo with our amazing room steward Dave and another room stored the same as blessing which I loved.

 

 

Oh when we had an extra casino chips, we would throw him a $25 casino chip every couple days and then of course we paid our gratuities as well so I think he was a happy camper and he sure did a great job by us.

 

Sad the last night but the best thing is our 2 more days in NOLA.

Great review! I'll be on Dream in Feb.Haven't sailed out of NO on CCL in a few years and was wondering what time casino opens on first night? I know it takes about 8 hrs to reach the Gulf and on NCL andRCCL they didn't open up casino until next day.On the Conquest a few years ago,they opened after a couple hours after leaving NO. Hi Carlyle, it took a while for the casino to open but I think it was open the first night however the shops didn't open until the next day. We had a great time-have a great time on the Dream!!

We had a great dinner but at that point my camera and phone conked out!! We loved our room steward, Dave and made sure to tip him some cash as well as auto gratuities.

 

We hit a couple shows, piano bar and others then with our bags ready for walk off, we watched tv and sadly, went to bed. But wait...we have two more days in New Orleans, no need to be sad

The next morning....

 

We ate breakfast and found our way off the ship at 9:00 with a decently short line for customs. We came out of the terminal and saw Jimmy in line to come get us. Doesn't work better than that!!

 

He drove us through some of the hardest hit areas-the lower 9th ward.

 

 

The highest blue pole is 14 feet...so incredibly sad!!

We had more food but of course when it comes to food I tend to eat it and not take pictures of it so be happy you got the oysters LOL!!

 

We then went walking to check out entertainment . You have to dance with this one.

After me getting upset and then getting mad finally Delta opened up a flight to match our nonstop flight back to Detroit and then back up north. We came home to this:
