Coco Cay IS the private island....so you hop on the tender, and when you get off, you're at the beach! Very simple! GC is also tendered, and it's a short bus ride to 7 Mile Beach...$2.50 pp....also very simple and easy!

Falmouth is a manufactured port...nothing is very close there.... Can't help with Coz.

This depends upon what beach. None of these places has just 1 beach.

There are public beaches, sometimes private beaches, beaches with different amenities etc.

Do a little research on each destination. Look at the list of excursions for each destination, make note of the beach names. Look at beach recommendations for each destination. Then you can figure out what the options are for traveling to and from where you want to go.

In most places, you can tell a cab to take you to a public beach and make arrangements for them to come back for you. However, you are taking a risk of being in a car with no idea whatever where you are going and having to trust they will actually come back. I would do this, but make sure that there are other transportation options from there, just in case.

In Cozumel we always go to Paradise Beach. It is about 5 miles from the dock, a quick cab ride. There are always cabs there for getting back. It is a very clean beach. Staff is very nice and helpful. Most important, it isn't crowded! It is about $3 per person to get in plus they ask everyone to buy drinks/food for at least $10 per person. Chairs & umbrellas are included. The walkway from the cab to the start of the sand isn't far and is paved. If you search for "paradise beach cozumel" you'll find their web site.
