FuelScience Posted February 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2017 In Amsterdam you might want to try an Indonesian Rice Tabel (Rijstafel). You're served small portions of 15-20 different dishes. We did it with a party of 6, and it was delicious and lots of fun. We ate at the Indrapura restaurant on Rembrandtplein (#9 tram from Centraal Station). We went early and were able to take advantage of their "Early Bird" special. Come in after 5:00 p.m., and if you're done eating, pay up, and leave before 8:00 p.m., you get a 25% discount! Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted February 13, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2017 In Lucerne I can recommend two restaurants: Rathaus Brauerei, a brew pub located partially in the ground floor of the City Hall; and Pfistern Restaurant where we enjoyed the local specialty Fritschepastete [puff pastry filled with chunks of veal and pork, mushrooms, apples and raisins in gravy] that had been talked up by our local tour guide -- it was delicious! In Amsterdam we also participated in a group dinner at a Rijstaffel restaurant, Restaurant Kantjil en de Tijger, which we enjoyed.

We will be in Lucerne for two nights, and those are the two restaurants where I made reservations:) Robin
