My friend and I will arrive in Cocoa Beach around 8:00 PM next week. We will be using a shuttle and want to know where a good place to eat dinner would be???

Thanks,

Jenn

Which hotel? Are you looking for a restaurant within walking distance?

There are many fine places to eat in the area. What kind of food?

We are staying at the Comfort Inn and Suites. We would just like someplace with some local atmosphere and where we can get a drink or two. We would prefer walking distance since we don't have a car.

All the places below can be seen on this map:

https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1kUqV-SksGfy8RZniAggbw3RAIQ4&ll=28.354075199165315%2C-80.60798370851711&z=18

IMO the nearest best place is Brano's - cross A1A and walk 2 blocks south. Classy-ish but cool!

3-4 blocks north is Sandbar near the beach (a favorite of many locals) with good food and great atmosphere as well as live music often.

Across the street both N.Y. Pizza and Thai Fuku are perfectly fine for a quick eat and next door the Shark Pit has sharks and tropical fish in a large round saltwater aquarium - worth going there for a drink just to watch it.

BTW for good food without live music, etc., if you want takeouts (or informal quick sitdown) the Rock the Guac about 3 blocks north on A1A has some of the best Mexican food in the area in a colorful friendly setting. The bowls are fabulous. And across from RocktheGuac in a strip mall next to Beach Wave, Pita Paradise has some of our favorite Mediterranean food. A hidden gem.

Finally, please know you go anywhere including the Port restaurants (Fishlips, Grills, etc) or south to Coconuts with Uber for around $10 if not less!

Awesome. Thanks so much for this informative reply. I will pass this info along to my friend so we can decide where we want to have dinner! Also, we come back on a Sunday and dont have to be at the airport till 7. Do you have any suggestions as to how we can spend the day? We will have a rental car on Sunday.

You will have at least 8 hours which are plenty and a car so anything is possible!

  • Kennedy Space Center
  • Airboat ride at Midway to see gators plus an animal sanctuary (Jungle Adventures) nearby with exotic wildlife including monster-sized gators.
  • Disney Springs then take the free bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge for wildlife and lunch in an African Cafe (Sanaa), or take the free boats to different Disney hotels just to explore and get your Disney fix!
  • Do kayak/paddle board tours at 1000 Islands to see dolphin, birds and manatee.
  • Gatorland in Orlando

We have a condo in that area of Cocoa Beach. Right now Thai Fuku is our favorite - weekday early bird specials $5 entree (just the entree) and $10 with sushi. We usually get one with and one without sushi and split the sushi. NY Pizza and Brano's are also good. Another seafood restaurant is Florida Seafood on 520 just at the east end of the bridge. You can walk to it from the Comfort Inn. We avoid the Epic Burrito Co. and Longdoggers - tried 'em, didn't care for them.
