Enough time to catch the ferry in Tortola?

Part of our group is going on their own to catch the ferry from Tortola to Virgin Gorda and the Baths. The ship shows the port time of 7:00AM, and the ferry leaves at 7:45AM. Will they have enough time to get off the ship and to the ferry terminal? Any secrets to ensuring you're some of the first off the ship? Going on Escape 2/25/17. Thanks to all the reviews!!!

As long as the gangway opens at 7 they won't have any issues making the ferry. We were on that itinerary and every time we went down to the gangway we walked right off. We took the ferry to the baths also. Our dock time was 8. We went down to the gangway approx 8:25 and walked right off. We were on the ferry at 8:45, in plenty of time for it's 9 am departure. As long as they are down and ready to get off at 7 they will be fine. I don't think there's any need to be "the first off the ship" when it's docked - tender is a different story but they get people of quickly when it's docked. The only holdup we ran into was when the dock time was 8 but due to gangway issues they didn't let anyone off until 8:35. Then there was a holdup from the line that had accumulated for 35 minutes.

There should be enough time, but your group needs to be in line ready to disembark. Don't wait for the disembarkation announcement (because that will cause a rush to the gangway).

Also, make sure to allow plenty of time to get back to the ship. The ship will NOT wait for you. It's a long trip back to Nassau and the captain is not going to burn thousands of dollars in fuel and potentially be late into port because you missed your ferry and missed all-aboard.
