I'm struggling with a decision for this port. We want awesome snorkeling with lots of fish but tabyana seems to crowded for us. Here are my 3 thoughts...

1. Victor Borden...monkeys, snorkeling tour, scenic drive, and beach club.

2. Catamaran sail and snorkel.

3. Maya key

4. Paradise beach club and walk down to the reef. Is it far?

Any thoughts and advice would be great!

Victor Bodden Tours will take you to West Bay/Tabayana are beaches.

I'm assuming that the Catamaran excursion is a ship sponsored excursion...it will be crowded.

Maya Key is also a ship sponsored excursion. It's a small island just off the coast from Coxen Hole and does have animals (owned by the same folks that do the dolphin swims) and okay snorkeling. You'll need water shoes/socks as the floor is rocky.

Paradise Beach is almost next door to the area where they take you for the Tabayana excursion. Reef is 50 yards or so out from shore. You can't "walk" all the way but you can snorkel in shallow water. Also, you can hire a small boat to take you up to West End and better/less crowded snorkeling.

Went to Tabayana last week and it wasn't crowded. Albert, one of the kayakers that take people out to the reef was fantastic. Didn't cost anything though I did tip. It was wonderful. Would recommend.
