Post Venice tour before the airport

Can anyone give me any suggestions, we end our cruise in Venice and our flight isn't until the evening. I see the ship does a late disembarking but wondered if anyone had done a trip on the way to the airport? Thanks

Look down the page to a thread from Sunseeker1001.

I'd suggest the same advice for your situation. Take the People Mover from the pier to Piazzale Roma, drop your luggage at the Transbaglia Left Luggage facility, then walk 2 blocks to the Grand Canal and take the #1 (slow) or #2 vaporetto to St Marks. Wander around, then either walk back to Piazzale Roma or take another vaporetto. Pick up your luggage then take the ATVO express bus to the airport - 20 minute ride to VCE. Be sure to arrive 2 1/2 - 3 hrs before departure as VCE is usually chaotic.

By the Rialto bridge there is a fruit/veg/fish market that is very lively and colourful, especially before 10 a.m. / noon.

Perhaps get off the Vaporetto at Rialto and check it out. From there it's also an easy walk to St.Marks Square. Just follow the signs "Per San Marco (or S. Marco).

Perhaps you can also Vaporetto it to the islands of Murano (glass blowers) or Burano (gorgeously courful) .
