Ex-Airbalancer Posted March 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 16, 2017 will be in Dubai on a Friday Since it is a holy day , are places open that day ? Any suggestions on what to do ? Thanks
Gwendy Posted March 16, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2017 My understanding is that most places do not open until after 2 pm. Look up malls on internet, you might find opening hours, they are so much more than shopping centres. Check, out Dubai Mall and mall of Emirates

Even the Metro only starts around noon. Enjoy the hotel pool and then splurge on a Friday brunch at a nice hotel. Brunch at the Park Hyatt is world class for serious foodies! lilybob Posted March 25, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2017 will be in Dubai on a Friday Since it is a holy day , are places open that day ? Any suggestions on what to do ? Thanks Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates are both open Friday mornings. You could visit Burj Khalifa "At the Top" as early as sunrise on Friday. There is also an A380 simulator, Aquarium, Kidzania, and ice rink in Dubai Mall as an alternate activity to shopping. Mall of the Emirates offers Ski Dubai and the Penguin Experience. Once noon arrives, experience a Dubai brunch at one of many locations each with its own special ambiance. Another option that is available in the morning on Fridays is taking a Dubai Water Taxi and seeing the city from the water. You can start at stops in the creek area or at the opposite end near Marina Mall. It is possible to charter one so join with others on your roll call. Various hotels and Port Rashid are also stops though it appears you have to substantiate your booking for these specific places. https://www.rta.ae/WaterTaxi/WaterTaxiBooking.action
