Vera123 Posted April 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2017 We have booked for the Norwegian Fjords on QV in May 2018. Our cabin is a deck 7 balcony on the rear of the hump, so we have a slightly bigger balcony but it faces the rear of the ship. My question is, how much privacy will there be, given that we look onto the balconies further down ship from us and because we 'stick out' we are also visible to others ?? Any experience of these cabins appreciated
Rare s.s.France Posted April 23, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2017 QV gets an new vertical tail in an extensive refit this may, the same as the QE has. I had a aft-facing Queens Grill Suite on QE and liked it very much. There was nobody looking down on you.
Camgirl Posted April 23, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2017 I assume you mean you have a corner balcony on the end of an 'out' bit along the side? We have had a couple of these. The extra balcony is nice. They are really quite overlooked (and you can see right into several other balconies) but we didn't really find this to be a problem as not that many people actually use their balconies that often. They can also be looked into from above on deck 10. My only problem was that I found the cabins to be a little dark due to angle of the windows and door! Rare Scrapnana Posted April 23, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2017 You will definitely be "on view" to other cabins. Here is a picture taken on deck 8 of QE. Notice how easy it is to see all of the "hump" cabins on decks 4-8.
Vera123 Posted April 25, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted April 25, 2017 Thanks for the replies. I see what you mean from looking at the picture. But we hope it will give a nice aft view of the fjords as we sail through, and we like the idea of the bigger balcony.
