RunnerGirlGoesOnaCruise Posted May 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2017 We are thinking of doing a walking tour of Nassau. What are the must dos, must sees? I think we will do the Queen's Staircase, and try to get a small sample of chocolate at Graycliffe chocolatiers (not take the full tour). What else would you recommend with a 10 yr old and 12 yr old? Also, is the Bahamian Cookin' restaurant walking distance from the ship terminal? I can't seem to find where it is located. We are open to suggestions for good places to try local cuisine. We are spending a lot in St. Maarten for our excursion, so we are trying to find a balance in Nassau.
Rare CruisinCrow Posted May 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 2, 2017 While you're at the Queen's Staircase, you'll probably want to visit Fort Fincastle (at the top of the stairs). Bahamian Cookin' is definitely within walking distance. There's a map on their website: http://bahamiancookin.com/contact/
RunnerGirlGoesOnaCruise Posted May 2, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted May 2, 2017 If the fort is right there, might as well visit it!! Do you know if there are signs or anything to read about the history? I'd like to learn about it, but we won't have a tour guide.
Rare CruisinCrow Posted May 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2017 Yes, there are some informational signs. The entrance fee is something like $1. Not sure how much the guides charge or if it's just for a donation. Hopefully someone who has been there recently will know.
RunnerGirlGoesOnaCruise Posted May 2, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted May 2, 2017 That is a very reasonable cost for a bit of history!!
