Nassau walking tour and Bahamian Cookin' restaurant

We are thinking of doing a walking tour of Nassau. What are the must dos, must sees? I think we will do the Queen's Staircase, and try to get a small sample of chocolate at Graycliffe chocolatiers (not take the full tour). What else would you recommend with a 10 yr old and 12 yr old? Also, is the Bahamian Cookin' restaurant walking distance from the ship terminal? I can't seem to find where it is located. We are open to suggestions for good places to try local cuisine. We are spending a lot in St. Maarten for our excursion, so we are trying to find a balance in Nassau.

Yes, there are some informational signs. The entrance fee is something like $1. Not sure how much the guides charge or if it's just for a donation. Hopefully someone who has been there recently will know.
