Monster Energy Drink - for those interested

Recommended Posts

Have learned so much from this site over the years, wanted to contribute to a topic that I couldn't find much info.

The rule states you can carry-on 12 canned drinks, no more than 12oz. Hubby drinks Monster (they only have Red Bull on the ship) and Monster comes in 16oz. Just back from the Pride out of Baltimore. Brought a 10 pack carton of 16oz (Walmart) to carry-on. Port security asked what it was, told her energy drink, she opened the carton to make sure we didn't have beer mixed in, taped it up & let us go. Also took a chance & had 10 single cans mixed in the checked luggage. Once the bag was delivered, had a letter from the naughty room & no Monster.

Like I said in the title, just sharing for anyone looking for info on what can be brought on.

Experience of getting a 16 oz can of any non-alcoholic beverage past the security check-in will depend on the clerk checking the bags. Regardless of port some will be more lenient (or not distinguish 1 cruise lines rules from another too well), while others strictly follow what each cruise line stipulates as their conditions. It is possible if you were not on the line that luck put you on at the terminal 1 of the other security people would of taken the 16 oz cans from your carry-on to go with the ones from your checked luggage to be picked up (maybe) from the naughty room at the end of the cruise.

As with so many things YMMV.

My question is were you able to pick it up at the end of the cruise? I know with alcohol the rules state it will be confiscated and no compensation provided.

Yes, the letter said we could pick it up the last morning 6am-9am. We didn't though, not worth the hassle.
