KarenS Posted May 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2017 We are on the Copenhagen to NYC crossing next October and I am curious as to the make up of passengers. This is my first NCL cruise and have never crossed on this line before. Usually I find older, quieter crowds on crossings but not sure what to expect with NCL? We have done several transatlantic crossings on NCL. It is mostly 60+ in age but there are also passengers of almost every age group including a few children and toddlers. Yllek Posted May 27, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 27, 2017 I was just on the Getaway's eastbound crossing and found the age group to be much younger than expected based on previous reviews I read. Most of the people we interacted with were in their 40's and 50's. There were only 24 kids on the ship. It certainly was not a spring break party cruise but it did not feel like a retirement home either.
Markanddonna Posted May 27, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 27, 2017 On both RCL and NCL, you will find people in all age groups, often with fewer than a dozen children. The passengers do skew to the "more mature range", but seem to be just as lively and energetic as those in their 20's and 30's. On our last TA, there were more obese younger people on scooters than older people. The "more mature" passengers are great to talk to and I have learned from their travel experiences and wisdom about cruising. I don't remember seeing anyone intoxicated. We love transatlantics. KarenS Posted May 27, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted May 27, 2017 I was hoping to avoid the spring break atmosphere as Yllek mentioned, more mature and quiet is fine with me!
