griz912 Posted June 20, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2017 My family and I will be traveling to Roatan on the Norwegian Escape in July. The NCL excursion to Tabyana Beach is a bit steep. I'm curious to know if there are local taxis that will take you to West Bay Beach and if they are reliable? Or is an excursion through a local tour company a better way to go? Rare crewsweeper Posted June 20, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2017 You can catch a taxi at the port. There are plenty there. I can't give any information on prices as these tend to change and I haven't been to Coxen Hole in several years, most of my port stops have been in Mahogany Bay. But your problem with local taxis is the return. There are drivers who will return at a specified time (be sure you and driver agree on what time as per both watches) and there are some who say they will but don't. Look up the packages at Beachers, Bananarama, or Infinity Bay and compare those with the ship's excursion. They all include transportation and amenities. BrotherCraig Posted June 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 29, 2017 To add to that... try Rony Tours (our choice) or Bodden Tours. $25 per person is the going rate and you have a driver for the whole day. Hit up West Bay Beach and you can also visit other places as well along the way there or back.
