I really couldn't believe the portion sizes but they were very, very small!

We're learning as we go! [emoji4]

We're on board too at moment - we were surprised by small portions!! Pizza at buffet afterwards. Been to MDR the first night and at tepenyaki last night. I'll finish reading small these posts and then add our thoughts on the Aurea experience.

We're currently sitting in the deck 19 sun deck - quick visit to Genoa this morn but I was too hot for the kids - they wanted to hit the slides! We're having real problems with Customer Services and our Aurea package but I'll post our thoughts once (hopefully!) everything is sorted. The ship is great tho [emoji23][emoji23]

Hi Leighglo - can non aurea cruisers pay for the deck 19 sun deck? Thanks x

Apparently yes they can but when we were up on deck 19 the other day, no one was patrolling this. I think it's confusing to everyone to have 3 home ports!

Hi Leighglo we went to Portofino & it was boiling hot there!

No problems with our Aurea package so far!

Portofino was lovely - we had an hour & a half there which was just about enough - another hour would have been perfect.

It was very scenic to arrive & depart by boat.

Everyone scrambled to get the best seats there & back & showed no mercy at all! [emoji15]

I had Google earthed Portofino beforehand so I knew it was pretty small.

It's really pretty & really expensive there - we had 1 scoop of ice cream there & it was 5 Euros per cone but yes it was very good ice cream!

We got back & hit the buffet & it was actually very good.

I have to commend the cake/pastry chef on board as they really know how to produce tasty cakes, pastries & desserts!

We debated going into the centre of Genoa but we were a bit tired so have chilled out inside. We are going to watch sail away & then it's spa time!

Hi kikki21. Would you have any idea if all balconies have some type of furniture, either chaos or sun loungers, as we have seen some photos of balconies with nothing on them. We would be quite disappointed if there was nothing? Thanks. (great review by-the-way!!)

On the inaugural cruise they hadn't had chance to put all chairs out hence why you see those photos. Some of the press reviewers mentioned this. That said I think all you get on the smaller balconies are chair(s) and perhaps a small coffee table.

Someone asked about cider in the Brass Anchor - yes it's available but it's not included in the deluxe drinks package - you need to buy it as is 4 euros plus a few cents. I'll try & get photos of the menu although I think I already did that.

There is a cider cocktail that is included in the deluxe drinks package though - bizarre!

We had a lovely time in the spa & got back in the room for just past 8pm!

Best get skates on for dinner - think we will go for the buffet tonight! [emoji4]

Menu seems extremely limited tonight!

@Leighglo - what problems are you having with the Aurea package?

Look at the menus & look at our plates - arrived with half the dish missing. No potatoes for both of us or the accompaniments.

Feel like banging my head against a brick wall!

The Mr has got the right dish now but I'm still waiting.

Suffice to say that I'm back to being not impressed again.

We're really easy going people honest!

I eventually got the right meal but again as with the other night's the food is not hot but lukewarm at best.

Hi there

From another forum I was told the included draught beers in the English pub are John Smiths, Guinness, Murphy, Tiger, Strongbow, Heineken, Newcastle Brown, an IPA, Stella and a German beer. I will know where to find my husband

Yes this is correct from what I can remember

I took a photo of the front & back page only. My bad!

I have yet to see a menu from Teppanyaki or Butchers Cut so looks like I may have to ask for them to have a look!

Hi,

Italian style of dining means a complete menu of several meals. And a few hours of your time.

Never expect large portions.

And remember, if you like something you can always ask for more than one plate, for every meal on the menu.

If you couldn't decide you can always order 2 or 3 different appetizers or main or even desserts.

It wasn't problem at all during our previous cruises with MSC.

And also, there is no special child menu on MSC, as I know. But if your kid is in Meraviglia's child club there is special part in buffet (I think) only for youngsters. I don't know what kind of food they served there.

Enjoy your cruise and thanks for effort.

Thank you! I thought that was the case but was then doubting what I'd read. What sort of things were on it?

The bar staff seem to be having really bad computer issues & indeed the onboard computers are failing on the TV lifts, on the in room TV's & also the MSC for Me app.

We have returned to a paper system tonight in the MDR.

So it seems there are still a few issues to be ironed out.

Our room as someone mentioned is very, very windy when the ship is out at sea.

In fact we have an issue with the Lounge door as it's not sealing properly.

I actually think none of the S3 room balconies get much sun on the balcony.

We get precisely none but we are not bothered about that. We're enjoying the balcony & the hot tub!

They have 3 courses on the kids menu to or the kids can mix and match from the kids menu and the adult menu. Normal kids meals, chicken, pasta, pizza etc. Plus the grilled chicken breastfeeding is every night... Can always count on that!! 😄 😄
