Giantfan13 Posted September 13, 2017 #26 Share Posted September 13, 2017 And if your hotel isn't in walking distance of termini, are taxi's readily available? Our hotel really isn't near Termani, so we would have no other choice but to take other transportation. How do the taxi's charge in Rome> Is it set fares, by the mile, 1/2 mile? Is there a initial charge and then the meter goes? Cheers Len

Cheers Len There should be taxis but I really didn't notice because we took the subway from Termini to our hotel. The subway station connects to Termini so you don't have to go outside. If you haven't already done so, get a copy of Rick Steve's Rome book. There's a lot of helpful info there.
bremenkat Posted September 13, 2017 #28 Share Posted September 13, 2017 Taxis are easy to find and very reasonable. We used them last year with no problems. I think it was an initial charge and then the meter. It was about a 15 min trip and cost us under 10 euros for 3 of us.
