Offered to bid for upgrade (UK guest) - Don't think we will.

We are booked in H4 2 bed Suite and offered to bid on H2 D.O.S

The way I see it I would be gaining a lot more square footage but actually losing a bedroom (tiny, but still a bedroom for my kids) and also losing a second bathroom (again, great to have my kids use it).

Am I missing something?

For families, I agree that the H4 is better than the H2. Of the 2 I've only sailed in the H2, but not having a 2nd full bath and segregated bedroom is a big deal. In the H2 they would have to sleep on the pullout couch in the main living room, which depending on the time they go to bed, could render the room unusable. The master bedroom is nice, but I would not want to be trapped in there after kids' bedtime (it's small and off the 3 main rooms in the cabin it is the least impressive).

FWIW, I think your thoughts are right on.

Thanks, just wanted to hear it from someone who has experience. This is to be our first Haven experience. The kids may well be out later than us, but they would be sleeping until later and thus rendering the expansive living space practically useless the next morning.

Are there other perks with a DoS?

Nothing that is worth worrying about. The DOS gets unlimited water (still, sparkling) and sodas as well as 3 bottles of booze from a pre-defined list (pretty low end options). The only other thing I can think of off the top of my head is you get an upgraded champagne on embarkation day.

Really not materially different than the other suites, some people point to the in room laptop, but it is literally as old as the ship.

Enjoy! Not sure what ship you are on, but the Haven on the bigger ships gives you the best of both worlds, in my opinion. All the activities and options of a big ship, but the peace and solitude of a small ship (if want it) behind those Haven doors [emoji3]
