Jeremiah On a Cruise Posted September 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2017 My wife and I are in our 30's and have had wonderful experiences on Celebrity with multiple future cruises booked on both Celebrity and Princess. For each of these bookings, we could afford upgrading to a premium line, but have not done so because we are not sure if the added price will result in much more *value*. In fact, we've been worried about losing some of the features of wider-market/bigger ship companies (e.g. production shows, guest entertainment, naturalists in AK, side shows throughout the ship) or being priced out of things that we enjoy (e.g. table limits in the casino, art auctions, etc.). With that said, we do enjoy being pampered and love high quality meals - and could be open to upgrading if we thought that value were commensurate with the price. From the Italian crew, to the English Female cabin attendants, to the top shelf liquor and wines, to their afternoon high tea, to the unbelievable Northern Italian food that is outta this world. Small ships rule: No herds of wild children running around, no big rah=rah half hearted Vegas Shows...just peaceful wonderful experiences. We also have 498 days on Seabourn and 207 days on Silversea. There is no comparison between the mainstream cruise and the luxury lines. Cabins (suites) are larger, service way better and excellent food. Also, SS and Seabourn will prepare any meal you would like with 24 hours notice, excellent free liquor and complimentary wine - Seabourn also offers anytime caviar. We have also sailed on RCL, NCL, Crystal, and Carnival. Our current go to line is SS, just like the ships, service, and food. We love the Silver Wind, and have done the 2016 Whisper WC, are doing the 2018 Whisper WC and also the 2019 Whisper WC. That said, we love the 57 day Sojourn Japan, China, and Alaska cruise we took in April/May 2017. That said , SS and Seabourn cannot compete with the mainstream cruise lines in relation to entertainment.
