Knitting needles are allowed by TSA per the following:

• Carry On Bags: Yes
  
• Checked Bags: Yes
  

Any sharp objects in checked bags should be sheathed or securely wrapped to prevent injury to baggage handlers and inspectors.

 

 

 

 

You can brring and use your knitting needles on the ship.

 

TSA is not present in cruise terminals..

I am surprised to see kettles on the list. I have always taken my travel kettle without a problem.

 

If you want to make tea you need boiling water - not just hot water - so getting it from room service would not do it.

Indeed This Is a real fire hazard.... room steward should have removed it,

Surprised it wasn't caught during X-ray of you luggage
