The Anchor Banker Posted December 8, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2005 Hi Everyone, We're just back from the Radiance of the Seas and had a fabulous time. We are booked on the Adventure for March break (Southern Caribbean) but the Golden Princess is now significantly cheaper and we're thinking of making the switch. Before doing so, we just wanted some feedback from everyone. We are 2 couples in our 30's. We have done 7 cruises but never tried Princess...looking for your advice/guidance! DrivesLikeMario Posted December 8, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 8, 2005 We've cruised on the Grand Princess, the sister to the Golden, and also the Adventure. You'll enjoy the Golden. The atmosphere is different from the fun, action-packed, upbeat Adventure of the Seas. I think everyone should give the Voyager Class ships a try at least once in their life. Princess is quieter, more intimate and more of a slow pace. For a couple, I think it's perfect. The Radiance was my very, very favorite ship/cruise. It's good to give Princess a try. Princess' dining room food is far superior, yet their buffet can't even compare to RCI's Windjammer Cafes. We tend to prefer RCI, but Princess is a close second. Princess does some things really well, like their muster drill, trivia games and lack of obnoxious announcements all day (i.e. Carnival). If the price difference is big, go with the Golden. . Give one of the Voyager Class ships a try another time.
caribbean2000 Posted December 8, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 8, 2005 Agree with Lady Jag regarding the differences! We've sailed both (and will be on the Golden again in April) - we love Princess but would go on the Adventure again anytime if the price was right. You don't get the "buzz" (for lack of better word) on the Golden that we felt on the AOS but head for Skywalker's after 10 p.m. and you'll find a good party every night, don't worry! But with the Golden doing those very port-intensive itineraries you won't miss the rock climbing wall or the skating rink. Have fun! If you have any questions, don't hesitate! mringenoldus Posted December 9, 2005 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2005 I've done both - and loved both. If I was traveling with a large age range of people - I would choose AOS. For adults only, either ship is terrific!

Thanks for the comments. We leave on Thurs for our first Princess cruise after 8 on Celebrity & RCI, making the jump following some itinerary shenanigans at Celebrity in September. Looks like we made the right choice (will post a review once we get back)
