ricruise Posted October 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2017 Hi, We have booked cabin 6508 for our upcoming cruise. I was hoping that others who have had one of these 4 cabins on deck 6 could let me know their experiences. Was the cabin smokey from the casino? Could you hear a lot of noise from both the casino and the theatre? Were the cabin stewards attentive? Since there are only 4 I was wondering if they tended to forget about these? Any information / photos would be great. Thanks

IWannaGetAway Posted October 26, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 26, 2017 (edited) We booked this exact same cabin on our most recent cruise out of New Orleans in February 2017. I loved it! It was perfect for us. I was so disappointed when the Dawn left New Orleans because the Pearl or whatever it is that is sailing from there does not have the same set up. The room actually seemed more private than any others we have stayed in. Our steward, Rhandy (yes, spelled with an h), was the best. No idea if he is still there. We were never disturbed by noise. We never experienced traffic going up and down the halls. I must tell you that I am a smoker, so I wouldn't notice much if smoke was an issue. My husband, though, is not. He did not mention any issues. On one of the sea days I ran into a neighbor who asked me how I liked the cabin. She said she got it as a guarantee and was pleasantly surprised and extremely happy with it. I do not believe she was a smoker as I never saw her in any of the usual smoking hangouts. One of the best things is the feeling of privacy. We are morning people. There is no one around the area that time of day except cleaning staff. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures. I can tell you it is no different than the pictures you see on NCL. Small, but with adequate storage. It was kind of nice to be able to spot our cabin from the pier since there were so few of them like ours. I hope you enjoy your stay there as much as we did. I worried some before we got on board for some of the same reasons you mentioned, but it turned out to be the best decision for us. I would love to do it again! ricruise Posted October 30, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted October 30, 2017 Thank-you for the information. It was great to hear! Did you feel any more movement from having a cabin near the front of the ship?
IWannaGetAway Posted October 31, 2017 #5 Share Posted October 31, 2017 I always sleep well on the ship - I think because of the movement. Like rocking to sleep. But no, I did not notice any more movement until the last sea day. There were 11 1/2 foot swells. The drain in the shower was slow (surely they have fixed that by now). It was no big deal the previous six days, but on that day we had to close the shower door after we got out so the water wouldn't slosh out onto the floor! The water was pretty rough in the pool, too. But they didn't close it! Sure hope we can go on the Dawn again in the same cabin!
