cruzinteachr Posted December 12, 2005 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2005 Does anyone know if the prepaid phone cards work in the caribbean? Some of the ports are the Nassau, San Juan, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, Antigua. When I was in the British Virgin Islands a few years ago, phone cards from the US did not work, I had to buy ones specifically for British Virgin Islands. cherylandtk Posted December 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2005 Generally you will have to purchase a phone card in the country where you plan to use it for it to work. There are some that will work from mulitple countries, but they also cost more per minute. Your best bet is to ask the crew on the ship for the best places and prices on the cards or to contact your cell phone company for costs to use your cell phone on an international rate plan. kitty9 Posted December 13, 2005 #3 Share Posted December 13, 2005 Phone cards purchased in the US, even at places like Sam's Club or Walgreens, do not work in most foreign ports.
