Any news on captain Bob's tours?

I have a question, we were looking at booking his tour for July. The invoice I’ve been sent required payment in full, is this normal? Several posts say you were able to pay a deposit (per person) and the rest in cash upon arrival. For 4 of us it’s $499.80. Has anyone else had to pay if full when making a reservation?

One of the reasons we were willing to pay a high price for this tour was because of the unique lunch experience. Since there is no reduction in price I guess we go and consider our $120 towards rebuilding or we don’t go and donate our deposit.

From all the positive reviews I read on CC about his excursion, I had interest in doing his tour when I was last in St. Maarten January 2017 (pre hurricane). Exchanging emails with him to get answers, I found him to be uncooperative but continued the dialogue. Being a vegetarian, I had questions about the veggie option. He replied that the veggie meal costs more than the meat options. After reading that I decided he was not someone I would ever patronize.

I just had the same experience, $499.80 for 4, to book through PayPal. I also didn't like that I was just forwarded their website info. that was cut and pasted in the email. I think I will pass and look for something different unless I start reading better reviews. Our cruise isn't until next February.
