ntourtelotte Posted December 30, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2017 Would a day a Chankanab be a good choice for an easy day with our kids and their grandparents? We are hoping for a general beach day with the ability to rent snorkeling gear and snorkel from the shore. Our kids (ages 10 and 13) have never snorkeled before and we just want to do something casual. Not sure if both grandparents will even want to snorkel so don't really want to book a snorkeling-focused excursion. Taxi rides to and from Chankanab should be easy? And we should be able to get lunch there? Natalie
JohninDC Posted December 30, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2017 Great plan as long as you are okay with the admission fee (about $20 per adult - there are some on line coupons). Taxi for 4 should be about $11 each way - for a group of 6 (?) expect to pay about $15 but check the fare board and confirm with the driver BEFORE you get into the cab. Snorkel area at Chank is great for beginners and the beach is nice; good food, drinks and service. Have a great cruise!
salvagegirl Posted January 4, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 4, 2018 We really enjoyed Chankanaab . We took a taxi there and bought the all inclusive package off a site that included admission, lunch buffet and snorkling gear for 39 a person. Well worth it even with us bringing our own full face mask. The food was good , snorkling was great and its nice to walk around looking and watching the sea lion show which is included. Nice relaxing day.
