Are you AAA members or is one of you a senior? Can you prepay? Can you join Marriott Rewards? Any of these will get you significant discounts.

1). Car Service like Dial7 or Carmellimo

2). La Quinta - 32nd St - $150 plus tax - queen beds

Marriott.com - Fairfield Inn W 40th - 2 double prepaid - $114 plus tax. Fairfield Inn W 28th - 2 double prepaid - $91 plus tax

Queen beds are hard to come by in NYC.

Have you now stayed at the La Quinta? I've always recommended it, and have stayed at it, over many years. But you are are posting it frequently lately as well.

I am staying there in two weeks. I did a walk by in July and really liked the location for getting to Cape Liberty on PATH and the light rail, particularly if it snows. I'll post a review when I return. I got a winter senior rate of $95 plus tax.

It's amazing how the rates can differ at different times of the year. I've been looking for hotels for the weekend of 6/8-10 before we sail on the Escape, and Fairfield Inn on W 40th is $323/night average for 2 double beds with AAA discount! I haven't seen anything under $200 and most are closer to $300+ for that weekend. Dang!
