Same as any other mass market cruise line...

Your fare includes, cabin, food (except in two specialty restaraunts where a small surcharge applies), coffee, tea, juice at breakfast and shows.

You pay for all alcoholic and carbonated drinks, bottled water, shore excursions, photos, gift purchases, casino losses and tips (automatically added but--except for drinks--removable/changable upon request.)

There is a "sticky" re Frequently Asked Questions that will answer many of your questions at the top of the page.

Basic room and board is included in your fare. Most everything else is extra.

I think that thread would be helpful to you.

Okay, this is our first time to sail on Princess. What is included in the price of our cruise? What is an extra charge? If you can direct me to a prior post, that would help too!

Thanks!

Great question.

All your food, except the specialty restaurants, is included. That means Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and just about any other time you're hungry, there's something for you. Room service is complementary and served 24/7. Other food choices have certain times that they're available.

In addition to the standard meal times, Princess also does some really nice things worth mentioning.

Tea Time is served in the afternoon on sea days in one of the dining rooms and Princess' own homemade ice creams are served in the afternoon too.

Entertainment from lounge acts or a piano bar to full production shows and everything in between is also included. You'll find comedians, hypnotists, fairly current movies too.

There are games like bingo and games like pool games going on a lot. It's hard to make it to everything even if you wanted to.

In addition, there's a full casino operation going on any time you're out to sea and they'll even teach you how to do it with gaming lessons early in the cruise.

Outdoor games include minature golf, basketball on some ships, and ping pong in addition to a jogging track.

For the excecise minded there's a place loaded with a bunch of those machines and people who know how to work them there to help you.

All that's included

Closeby is the Spa which is way NOT included. The menu of Spa treatments is extensive covering every thing from standard salon stuff to couples massages, hot stone therapy (or something like that) and treatments of all kinds. It's customary for you to be able to use the Spa's facilities (steam room, sauna, pool, etc) before or after a scheduled treatment or you can buy a pass for the day to do that too.

Also not included is shopping (duh). The ships shops include gifts, jewelry, perfumes and liquors- all duty free. I think the liquor is priced attactively but they hold it until the last day when they deliver it, all boxed up for travel, to your stateroom. If you're a smoker (or know one) the duty free prices for cigarettes are good too- those you can have right away.

Something that's kind yes and kinda no included is tipping. You'll get automatically charged each day on your shipboard account for the standard recommended tips. That pretty much covers your cabin steward and the dining room bunch. Room service is customarily tipped when used and extra good service usually gets some extra dollars at the end of your sailing.

Shore excursions, and pretty much everything you do off the ship except lunch if your ship stops at Princess Cays, is on you. The shore excursions boards here are good as well as the princess website where you can order excursions before your cruise.

Hope this helps....enjoy your Princess cruise!
