La Quinta inn & suites Plantation at Southwest 6th street

Booked this hotel before our cruise out of Port Everglades on Allure o/t Seas in february. I will be staying 4 nights by myself and then my sister and her stepdaughter will join us. Has anyone recently stayed at this hotel and can tell me if this hotel is in a good neighbourhood? Ever since we booked our cruise last year april hotel prices in Fort Lauderdale have been extremely high and this hotel had good reviews on tripadvisor and a good rate. I will have a rental car.

I haven't stayed there but Plantation is a nice suburb west of Fort Lauderdale. Good thing you will have a car. Nearby attractions in western Broward County include Flamingo Gardens, Everglades Airboat rides and Sawgrass Mills Shopping Mall. You'll be about 20 minutes from Fort Lauderdale. Check out http://www.sunny.org for attractions in all of Broward County.
