Staying Focused Posted January 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2018 We will be in port from 8am-6pm in May. I'm curious if there would be enough time to do the Soualiga sky explorer AND Maho beach. Is a taxi best foe getting to these locations? Where can I find more info on taxis/trolleys and travel time to these locations? How can I find out when big planes come in so I can plan accordingly? RMH Posted January 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2018 I can help you out with the Maho portion of your plans - no idea about Soualiga. Bus or taxi is very easy to use get to/from Maho, but if you are not going to/from Philipsburg, the bus might not work. It takes about 25 - 30 minutes to drive from Philipsburg to Maho. You want to be there in the afternoon if your goal is to see the big planes. They tend to land between 12:00 - 2:00 and take off between 2:00 - 4:00. Traffic can be bad at times getting back to Philipsburg so don't cut your return too close. Use this web site to see what the arrival/departure schedule will be like on the day you are there. Just plug in your date and then various cities (New York, Miami, Atlanta, Amsterdam, Paris) to see if there are planes coming in that day. To see the departures just switch SXM with your cities. If you click on the flight info, it will give you additional details including the type of aircraft. https://www.google.com/flights/#search;f=JFK,EWR,LGA;t=SXM;d=2018-02-10;r=2018-02-14;tt=o;s=
SnorkelAway Posted January 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 18, 2018 There should be plenty of time. Probably best to do Soualiga Sky Explorer first then head to Maho forplanes in afternoon.
