Walking from Hotel Canal Grande to Cruise Port

My husband and I are taking a cruise out of Venice in early July. We are staying at the Hotel Canal Grande. Is it a doable walk from there to the cruise port? If I understand correctly, we would walk to the people mover and that would take us to the port? How much does the people mover cost?

Thanks!

You can use Google maps to input your hotel and then get directions for walking to Piazzale Roma. According to them, it's about a 10 minute walk but you do have to cross at least 2 bridges with whatever luggage you have. (Most bridges in Venice are stepped.)

The People mover costs 1,50 euro per person. More information on how to use it here:

Hi,

We did the same July 2017. People mover is the best option. Water taxi is extortionate.

People mover is a few euros each.

As your on Grand Canal, you only have few bridges to cross. The people mover is over the road at the bus/tram terminal.

There are both escalators and lifts at the people mover.

We had two large cases, it was just a matter of finding the easier bridges to cross.

Be wary of offers from locals to help carry your cases!!!

Rob.
