Drink Package Question

Hello - We are very excited for our cruise on the Seaside next week.

We've been told that if you buy any of the drink packages, you need to purchase it for both guests in the stateroom. However, if you buy it online, you have the option to un-select a name and get it for just one person.

Maybe this inconsistency is part of the growing pains. In any case, has anyone purchased this way? If so, have they given you a hard time when it comes time to settle up at the end of the cruise?

No flaming - our goal isn't to "get one over" on the system by sharing drinks. One of us drinks coffee/soda/soft drinks and the other just doesn't.

I plan to take a screenshot showing what I agreed to pay for...

I know this doesn't answer your question but do you really think you are going to drink $350 worth of booze EACH on a cruise where you are off the ship 4 of the 7 days? In our case, the Fantastica balcony also offered 12 drink vouchers per person and unlimited meal time drinks. Even without the vouchers, I would still pay as you go unless you want to get drunk every day.

Don't assume!!?? Everyone is different!! I did on a 4 port cruise.... On port days...3-4 drinks before dinner, 2-3 drinks at dinner and a couple drinks after dinner. Average 7-8 drinks per port day. Obviously more during sea day. And this is on Carnival whose Cheers package is more expensive than MSC. Remember...your on vacation!!!

You're right - that didn't answer my question. Believe it or not, I actually DID think about the financials/break even before seeing this message. Just like I did before sailing other cruise lines.

Everyone cruises differently. I often stay onboard the ship on port days and prefer a more "all inclusive" prepaid experience. It's more than just dollars and cents. So no judgment please. I was also looking at the significantly less expensive refreshment package.

I really just want to confirm that they aren't going to come at me on Day 7 and demand payment for a second person's package that wasn't selected at booking.
