honeymoon cruiser 614 Posted February 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2018 Hi - We plan on taking bus 112 from Eze to Monte Carlo this summer. I know they run fairly infrequently and I have found more older reports than newer ones. 1) Can someone confirm that the you can catch the bus near the casino? According this schedule, that is the case: https://www.departement06.fr/documents/A-votre-service/Deplacements/transports-en-commun/112.pdf 2) If the bus stop is at the casino, what is the best way to get from the cruise port to the casino? Thank you!
buggins0402 Posted February 25, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2018 Do you mean MC to Eze?
honeymoon cruiser 614 Posted February 26, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted February 26, 2018 Whoops - yes. From Monte Carlo to Eze and then return to Monte Carlo.
buggins0402 Posted February 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2018 This is a map from a 2011 post on the Monte Carlo forum on tripadvisor: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1uov6uxNtcHFNXj3Jv8kwxuRoIOI&hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&ll=43.73677860739998%2C7.423324981475844&spn=0.01248%2C0.032015&z=16 I found it on this forum post on TripAdvisor: https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g190405-i678-k4310687-Monaco_112_bus_stop-Monaco.html If you click on the little bus by the casino you'll see bus 112 and the stop. We would walk it - but we walk just about anywhere on a trip. You can also google Tom's Port guides for Monte Carlo. He has good instructions on how to exit the port and where to find the elevators to ease the journey. And, you might ask on the MC TripAdvisor forum exactly where the bus stop is by the casino updated to 2018...I seem to recall they moved it just a bit a few years ago. Rare Hlitner Posted February 26, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2018 Buggins did a great job nailing down the old TA post and map. We have seen too many cruisers who complain about walking one end of the ship to the other.....so always hesitate to say what is walkable. Suffice it to say if you like to walk, can handle a few miles a day, then getting to the Casino (and nearby bus stop) is certainly doable. Be cautions about the #112 and make sure you print-out the schedule. If you are there on a Sunday that bus does not even run....and on weekdays its usually about once an hour except during early afternoon (lunch hour) when its less regular. You also must carefully plan your visit to Eze Village to make sure you get back to the bus stop at the right time (one of the reasons we dislike the 112). buggins0402 Posted February 26, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2018 And, beware that the bus can get filled during the high season. I would get to the stop in Eze early.
honeymoon cruiser 614 Posted March 1, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Thanks everyone. I had run across that map as well - and I did see that a couple of years ago a new stop was added so I will ask on the forum. I have the schedule for the 112 and we plan on going first thing. Our ship is in port from 8am -10pm so I anticipate we should be OK. Thanks!
