Any Recent Splendor Of The Seas Reviews?

Has anyone returned from the Splendor of the Seas recently? Would love a report as we are going February 4, 06. All info would be helpful.

There have been several posted the last 30 days if you use the search feature. We were on it 12/1 for a 4 night cruise. Overall it was fun. We have been on it before and still think the Windjammer is poor in quality and the dining room is great. We had a J/S (8020) and the noise from the pool deck (chairs being dragged around and tables dragged) kept us up late at night. We recognize that it is an older ship and that has its downsides. The crew is wonderful and extremely friendly.

We just did Splendour on the 19th for 5 days and thought the food in the dining room was some of the best we have had in the last few years. The Windjammer food was not quite as good and the crew was quite friendly.:)

Having done 3 RCCL cruises I do like their midnight buffets - esp. the chocolate ones? On the 4 night on the Splendour is there a midnight buffet and if so, what kind?

The golf - is there a charge and where do you get the equipment?

Sailor Moon: For some reason whenever I try search nothing comes up. I am probably doing something wrong but I have tried numerous times and nothing works. The only place that I know of to read reviews is the "Review" section on this board.

 

We booked guarantee and have made final payment. Does anyone know how we find out our rooms number? We have sailed Carnival twice and I know how to retrieve it from their site but can't seem to figure out RCCL.

 

We're going to Galveston the day before and was wondering if any of you found a good place to eat the night before.

Sailor Moon: Just as soon as I said that the search would not work I tried it again and guess what? It works now. I guess I need to start getting things together. I only have about 38 days to pack. ha!

We were on the Splendour earlier this month. It was our second time on her and we experienced great weather, great service, good shows and good food. After our first cruise we were sold on Royal Caribbean and will never go back to Carnival. I posted a review upon our return, but after finishing I received a message indicating that they were behind in posting the reviews. I just checked and it is still not on there. Saw a question about the minature golf...no there is no charge, but there are only about 12 holes and is in need of repairs/updating. The golf is a challenge as there are no flat spots on the courses like your normal mini golf course. A lot of hills and valleys.

 

We just got back from a 5 day and they only had one buffet on it and it was not a chocolate one. They did not publicize when it was very much.

 

Very good ship and the food in the dining room was excellent and crew very friendly.
