JulieMcCoy Posted January 3, 2006 #26 Share Posted January 3, 2006 When I found out yesterday morning that Independence Air was ceasing operations, I immediately called them and asked when they would know if the bankruptcy court would allow them to issue refunds to holders of tickets for flights after Jan. 5. The agent told me he could cancel my tickets and immediately credit my card for the entire amount I paid. I did that, and booked almost the same flight times on another airline; actually saved $30, since something had opened up since I originally booked. It took until this morning for my card to be credited, but it has happened, so all is well. It amazed me that it worked out this well, but it did, and I recommend this course of action for anyone else who still has tickets on Independence.
