Summer 2006 - Alaska out of SF

We took a Celebrity cruise some time ago and were well pleased. We recently took a Carnival cruise. Our first and last.

 

Thinking of planning a late-summer early-fall 2006 Alaska cruise out of San Francisco. My wife, two adult sons, and me. Can anyone with experience recommend specific dates, itineraries, etc. which they've enjoyed? Thanks.

For that tiem of the year , out of SanFransisco, you have two options...

1/ Regal Princess which spends the season doing 11/12 days sailings from SanFran to Alaska.

2/ Celebrity Infinity which completes her Vancouver-homeported season for Alaska with a 3rd Sept Vancouver // 11 days Alaska // SanFransisco, then 13th Sept SanFran--12 days Alaska and back.

Judging by your past sailings informations, you'll do well to consider INFINITY; either flying up to Vancouver for the 1st one, or do it round trip from SanFran for the second one.

You will defenitely love Alaskan cruising. Princess does a very good job with the product....Celebrity simply is a touch above...

Rumor has it that Infinity is getting a wee long in the tooth. How long since she has been refurbished?

She's going into drydock near Miami 20thMarch until late 1st April.

Did this cruise last May. Absolutely wonderful. Didn't find Infinity was long in any tooth. Weather was great! A must stop: Icy Strait Point. Royal Charters whale watches. A day to remember, take the sun screen.
