Getting on the Carnival Liberty

Big Spanker

Would like to avoid long lines if possible Sailing Carnival Liberty March 26, 2006. Have booked the cruise direct with Carnival with my own airfare. We will be staying in FLL for a few days before the cruise. What is the best time to board ship as we will have our own luggage etc. Traveling with two teenagers.

We arrived at 11:30 -- it was not the worst time ... think it was about 90 minutes to get to our room. We got our S&S Card at 1:00, which was good, because our room had just become available, and we were in the room by 1:10, dropped our carry ons, and hit Lido for lunch about 1:45 or so. Talked to those that arrived around 10-10:30, and they got on pretty quickly. We had a balcony on the starboard side, which at Ft Lauderdale is actually the side the port is on, so we could see the line of people by the terminal very clearly ... and it was already shortened by 1:10 when got to our room and I went out on the balcony. Early arrivals wait inside the term, but do get to sit (if real early) ... so just depends where you want to wait.

Got there around 10:30... went right in to the seating area got the first row.. had a nice chat with those around us.. line was moving a bit before noon.. if they hadnt had trouble with the sign and sail machines we would have been on even faster. We boarded about 12:15. We found our rooms which were not quite done.. but we stuck our carry ons under the beds... and let them finish cleaning went to lunch by 12:30..... then was able to get right into our rooms..

Bags arrived well before dinner...

So we were able to shower change etc..
