Treatingmyself Posted July 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2018 Like many cruisers we have 3 fur babies to check in with back home while we cruise. With all the internet package changes on the NCL Escape we want to be sure we can watch them before we get out to sea. As latitudes members we have three 30 minutes of free internet each. Can these be used for streaming 1-2 apps running cameras back home? Our itinerary has us in Bermuda for three days so we also want to supplement our free minutes with a travel pass through our phone carrier (Verizon, $40 for 100MBS) because they no longer have a cheap onboard streaming option. We don’t need anything in terms of checking email, social media, etc. The internet we plan to use is only intended for pet cameras. Does anyone have any alternatives to suggest? Or know if this plan is doomed to fail? We want to be doubly sure we can peek in on our pets and would appreciate any advice! :D
Loonbeam Posted July 9, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2018 It all depends on what ports the cams use and if they are blocked. No way to know for sure. If they have a web based viewer its probably going to work. Some cams have the ability to upload timed shots to a static web site you could then browse, if that's an option.
