QUESTION FOR SEASONED CRUISERS

In your experiences do the cabins on the port side always have the port side view or not? How do you determine which cabin to choose if you want the port view?

Just returned from Europe and was very upset that the best views were almost always on the starboard side. Is this just in Europe or was it the cruiseline? On our Princess cruises the port side always faced the port even if they backed the ship in. Even when we had tenders the starboard side faced the port.

Would like to know for future cruises, so I don't make the same mistake.

Thanks,

Sassy

Sorry the comment about the tenders, I was referring to our cruise in Europe. They put the starboard side on the port side when it seemed they had a choice.

Thanks for the info. Looking to book another cruise and would appreciate any help.

Sassy: It would depend on the ship and the Captain. When we sailed the Victory the starboard side was on the port side. Just because you are picking the port side does not necessarily mean you will be port side.
This is the main reason we like the afts. It wouldnt matter which side the port is on- we will be able to se eboth-unless like in San Juan we pulled into the dock and we were looking at water the whole time.
