Have never done a cruise eh? you came to the right place to learn everything that needs to be learned.

Wht ship are you looking at taking?

Do you get motion sickness? Taking your first cruise in a balcony.... I took out first cruise and stayed inside. Not a bad way to start out. Its also a lot cheaper to do an inside. Balconies costs like 300-400 more pp sometimes its worth it = other times I can do an inside.

Where to stay?? Spme people prefer the higher decks because it places you closer to the action. I prefer to be closer to the water...the action is only an elevator away.
I also prefer aft blaconies. These are balconies located on the very back of the ships.

Hi!
The common saying is that the closer you are to the exact middle of the ship, both front and back, and top and bottom, is the best for the least possible motion. If you are concerned about motion sickness, do talk to your doctor. If you do not become motion sick, and you don't think you will, book anywhere you think you would like. A lot of folks like those aft cabins, directly on the back of the ship. I try to get a cabin toward the middle, because I KNOW that motion sometimes bothers me.

We'll be in our first balcony on our next cruise. Looking forward to the experience. Have only had oceanview. I'm not too worried about motion sickness even though our cabin will be all the way forward. I'll start taking my Bonine the day before we leave. Those BIG ships have to be in pretty rough seas for me to be botherd by any motion. It has never bothered my DH. Some people are just lucky.
I'll tell you one thing though, chances are after your first cruise, you'll be HOOKED! It happens to the best of us! I think a cruise is the most exciting and relaxing vacation there is! You'll LOVE it!

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
