Are there taxis readily available at the port in Edinburgh?

Recommended Posts

Some of the private taxis for hire are rather pricey. I am wondering if anyone has taken a taxi that is lined up at the port for a two hour or so tour. (1) I am wondering if there are taxis that do line up. (2) Is there a minimal time for such a taxi tour? (3) Do they charge by the hour? Thank you VERY much for any information. Erin Dreamer

Of course, I should have mentioned that we are planning ahead for 2019,and we will be tendered. We will be on Celebrity Reflection. I thought there was one dock that ships used when transferring passengers who have been tendered in Edinburgh, but I think I just read that there are two possibilities? Because it is too early to be scheduled, I won't know which port, but generally speaking are there taxis waiting to take passengers who have not booked a taxi? I am wondering what an average price might be. I prefer at this port not to book ahead. I have some mobility issues and just in case there are rough seas, I might find getting into a small boat challenging. For that reason I don't want to book ahead but just get a taxi that day. Thank you.
