The A-E platinum promotion was initially only for those who booked through the AE travel service but is now available to bookings made from any TA and paid with the platinum card, however, it is still considered a TA benefit, as is the Virtuoso benefit and only one such benefit is allowed. They have also changed the rules with the shareholder benefit (holder of NCLH stock) cannot be combined with other benefits.

 

My TA seems to be able to offer better benefits than the $300 offered by Amex so as far as cruise benefits, the platinum card is not as valuable as it used to be.

 

So, yes, you can use either or, but not both .
