New to NCL... Sky questions

Going on the Sky in December for a girls trip. My mom, aunt, & myself. Ages range from 43 to 66. Yes, we know this is a "booze cruise" & we don't care. :) Since this is a last minute decision, we are trying to keep cost to minimum. Two of us have cruised Carnival several times. Here are my questions:

1. We can get an inside gty room for $1009 or an OV gty room for $1169. Seems like a no-brainer to choose the OV. It is my understanding these rooms will have queen bed and sofa bed. Is that correct? It seems these rooms are much smaller than what we are use to, but don't plan on being there much.

2. Do we get one card upon boarding that we use for everything? I can't seem to confirm this. It looks like there is a different card for the casino?

3. Are there private showers to use after a gym workout?

4. Any tips/tricks? I will continue to search here, but would like recent information. Thanks in advance for your help!

We've been on the Sky several times and I'm sure you'll have a great time. In response to your questions:

 

1. "Booze cruise ?"..... I thought all cruises were "booze cruises".

 

2. The OV sounds like the better deal. We've had on and the bed can be 2 twins or one queen. The room we had also had 2 twins mounted to the wall that folded up out of the way. They did take up a fair amount of walking pace by the bed. There was a chair/loveseat that made into a bed but we didn't use it.

 

3. Yes, your room key is used to charge everything. When you check-in they your credit card info.

 

4. For what ever reason, the fitness center was usually empty when we went. I don't think there are public showers.

If #4 is important...  you can always get a spa pass for the duration of your trip...  and use the spa showers ( I think the SPA is near the fitness center)  ...  but that will fly against your goal of keeping the prices down

RE the gym and showers, I sort of see the reason they don't have them in there...

Here is my review from the Cuba trip on the Sky in June. Not sure where y'all are headed. Also, please find a link to the dailies. I did not think it was a booze cruise. There was a great variety of people on board and I really enjoyed the smaller ship. FWIW, I agree to go with OV for $100. I loved our room. Please let me know if you have more questions.
