Birth certificate

When using a birth certificate when you are married or was married to get on board. Does it matter about the different last name? Do you need to bring marriage license also? We are sailing in a group and a couple of people do not have a passport

Can't hurt to take Bob's advice, but I've never seen anyone denied boarding because of the name being different because of marriage. As long as the booking is in the same name as the photo ID, shouldn't be a problem.

The reason you really do need a marriage license is when the bride books herself in her new name and has no official photo ID document that supports that name. That's when the risk of being denied boarding is really high
