First time onboard Serenade, Baltic route.

I am going to sail the Serenade of the Seas next summer, and it is my first time onboard this ship, I have some questions.

  • I sailed Voyager and Allure before, both were very nice, Allure maybe a little bit crowded but very cool places inside, Voyager smalled but better details, what can I expect onboard the Serenade regarding my previous ones? 🙂
  • Can we check online the shows and the entertainment on board? before boarding I mean. Just like in the airlines.
  • Is it allowed to take food out from the ship? from the Windjammer café for example during days of long excursions, as it is included in the cruise fares, just like some hotels do. A kind of self picnic.🥪
  • About St Petersbourg... companies that organize excursions? cheap ones if possible.
  • If a ship stays in a port for example from 7am to 6pm...these timetables are the time the ship departs and arrives from/to the port, or the time passengers can get in and out the ship?
  • Everything you can tell me about this ship and route is welcome!!

Thanks in advance.  😉

There are no pre-cruise entertainment reservations for Serenade.

With regard to excursions in St. Petersburg, check out the port of call forum:

Interary times are when the ship arrives and departs.  You should be able to get off the ship 30-45 minutes after arrival.  Likewise, all aboard is normally 30 minutes befire scheduled departure.

I meant to see what will be, not reservations sorry.

The cruise line does not publish an entertainment/show schedule for Serenade.

Once the ship goes back to the Baltic and sails your exact itinerary, you may find someone has posted a review with Compass scans.

I was just on the Serenade this past Aug/Sept for Baltics and TA cruises.

You could possible see if somebody before your cruise will post what shows they had. The production shows will probably be the same, but the other shows may change weekly, depending on who comes on board.

Since you have cruises before, the same rules apply for food being taken off. That is for every ship. Only packaged food. Or you can take packaged snacks or granola bars when you board to take on excursions.

I was only in St. Peterburg for one day and used SPB tours and got to see quite a bit. Alla is another favorite that people use.

I would suggest joining your Roll Call. You will be able to share a lot of info there.

Thank you.

As my last cruise was in 2011 and I was quite young I don't remember about food, so I can take it our as long as it is packaged.

I am going to have a look at SPB tours 🙂

What is the weather like in the baltic in summer??
