We are staying at a hotel in Ft. Lauderdale that is taking us to the pier the next morning. Then on the way back we bought the carnival transfers about $15 per person.

ginam--will the hotel take you to the pier in Fort Lauderdale or the pier in Miami??

sal13579--we rented a car from Budget and it worked out great. Picked it up at FLL, dropped it off at the Sheraton Biscayne Bay and the took a cab to the pier. Car for one day is around $50 and the cab is an additional $10 or so.

Just off the Carnival Victory on 4/4. We went in 2 days early, rented a car from alamo at FLL, drove around exploring FLL then returned the car to MIA and Alamo shuttled us to the MIA pier. Car rental was $70 inc taxes for a mid size for 2 days. Did the Carnival transfer to FLL on our return to MIA for $16 pp. Transfe can be purchased aboard at the pursar's desk.

Does the Carnival transfer only go to the FLL airport? We are staying another 2 days in Ft. Lauderdale after our cruise and need to figure out a way to get to our hotel from the pier.

Namaste,

Heather

We got the Hyatt for 38 bucks using priceline using d/t miami.

We have used www.larryslimo.com for our limo for 6 people. They do have town cars for 2-4 people also.

As far as transfers you can take carnivals transfers to the FLL airport and hopefully your hotel will have a shuttle that gets you from the airport to their hotel. (thats about the easiest cheapest and fastest way.

ginam: what is the name of the hotel? I am interested in this for later. If we can save almost 100 for a trip like that...wow.

Hey, Sal...

Another vermonter! Are you flying JetBlue to FLL? Have you arranged transportation to the ship yet? We are leaving on the Faxcination on 5/10 and haven't done anything yet. Let me know what works for you, please!

And have a wonderful time!

Hey fascination

We are flying on Jet Blue to FLL the day before. Am under the impression that transportation from FLL to Miami will be no problem so I am not worrying about it. We booked a room at the Hyatt through priceline for 47+ dollars. Had made a previous offer that was rejected at 35 dollars and was running out of time so am very pleased with results. Saved many bucks! We are sailing on the 25th of this month........Yea!!!! It was a last minute decision and only booked less than 2 weeks ago. It is so nice not to have to wait for your cruise. Will be packing all weekend. I hate (actually afraid of) flying but am comfortable on JetBlue which is why I am flying to FLL instead of Miami. I will fill you in on transportation when I return.

We are sailing on Fascination 5/31. We are staying at Embassy in Fort Lauderdale. They have free shuttle service to and from the airport, cooked to order breakfast and drink reception every evening. We booked this hotel using our Hilton Honors Points. As for transportation to and from the port we are getting a limo with Larrys Limo for $198 round trip including tip. Originally I had a hard time reaching him using email but once I called the toll free number he was very helpful.

I can't wait to read your trip reports. I have a couple of questions for you when you get back. How many pools, if the pools are extremely crowded, if there are enough lounge chairs, how was the food, if they had drink cards for alcoholic beverages, how were the staterooms (we are in U197), if there were many teens and what type of entertainment and if it was good. Thanks!
