MikeBrown Posted January 13, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2019 Hi my wife and I are on the Marella Celebration shortly doing back to back 7 day cruises ports are Barbados, St Martin, BVI, St Kitts, Guadeloupe, St Vincent, Antigua, St Barts, St Lucia, Grenada We have cruise with Tui out of Barbados before but we are not sure the best option with currencies. We take a Halifax Clarity card and GB Pounds I think last time we just used Clarity card for cash withdrawal at atms in port and converted some sterling With the variety of currencies ie ECD, Us Dollar, Barbadian Dollar, Euro, etc What is the easiest and cost effective way to handle the currency situation Sone other questions relative to Celebration 1 Are there unlimited toiletries available in the cabins (we are level 3/4 outside) or do we have to take enough for 2 weeks (all adds to the weight of the bag) 2 Are there fridges on board 3 Noboby at TUI seems to be able to determine what is included in FULL BOARD we have been told by speaking to their cruise telephone line that full board includes a drink with each meal but nobody is sure wether it is just water, tea, juice or alcoholic wWe have not gone AI as we want to be up early each day to explire the different islands Your help and advise would be greatly appreciated
AlanCruise Posted January 13, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2019 1) There are basic toiletries - e.g. soap dispensers. If you need specific say hair shampoo take it. 2) In general no fridges - may be in some suites. 3) Full board gets all food in the main restaurants. Tea, Coffee, water are available at all times in buffet and with breakfast. You will also have fruit juices with breakfast. Other drinks are for purchase if you don't have AI, prices similar to UK Pubs.
newbiewaves Posted January 16, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2019 Celebration also has chilled water dispensers and glass carafes in cabins to fill. Suggest take empty plastic bottles/containers to fill for excursions. We were A1 as transatlantic and like our wine but if not heavy drinkers and port heavy cruise then probably cheaper to pay as you go. We took USA dollars seem acceptable everywhere and some Euros. Ship is £ added to your ship account bill. Did shift some old Barbados currency but USD is king as so many USA cruise ships.
