Train in Ushuaia to Tierra del Fuego National Park.

We would like to do the train in Ushuaia, but Viator is not allowing us to purchase tickets on the day we are in port, February 23.  Our ship does not get in until noon.

How far from where the ship is docked is the train?  Can one walk there?  How do you get there?

Do you need to take a taxi to get there?

Might there be a problem in getting a ticket that day?

If you don't take the train back, what transportation is available to get back to the port?

The ship is not scheduled to leave until 8 pm.   Will shops still be open late for cruise passengers?

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer.

The station is about 15 minutes by taxi from the town.  I do not know what it would cost.  You would have to prearrange with a driver to collect you at the far end - the station is really just a halt and turn, there is nothing else there

Our ship did not leave until 8 and we went back onboard about 6pm and shops were open then.
