The free beach is when you first get off the ship.  We paid $10 for an umbrella and 2 chairs - a lot less crowded than near Margaritaville.  They also have an on-line coupon for a free rum shot (it's about what you'd expect for free), and we also got a dark and stormy for around $10.  We didn't get any food, but the chicken smelled good.  They have a small restroom inside the store.

Jack's is about 1/3 mile walk.  There was really nice snorkeling (in this novice snorkeler's opinion) right from the beach. 

 

We went there first thing when we docked, and they were busy raking the beach to clear the seaweed.  They also have several dogs around, two "famous" labradoodles - Topher and Calypso - plus several local strays.  None of the dogs bothered us, but they did lay down right by (and even dug in under) our lounger for the shade.

 

HMC will give you your white sand beach and clear water, but not much to see for snorkeling right at the beach (although there are some "clear" fish.
