fred25 Posted February 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2019 Does anyone know if travel agents receive kick backs (or commission) on excursions promoted by the cruise ship?
leaveitallbehind Posted February 16, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2019 (edited) No, they don't. The excursions are contracted directly by the cruise lines at each port of call through third party tour providers. You pay a premium for this when you book them as the cruise lines add their cut on top of the operators fees. But travel agents have no direct part in this process. You don't normally book ship sponsored excursions through travel agents anyway, as they typically are booked directly by you on your cruise planner through the cruise line.
